Autobiography of Choice Agaba

Choice Agaba is a researcher with extensive experience in climate science and sectoral interactions, climate risk management, climate change adaptation and mitigation, climate-smart agriculture, decision support systems and technologies, urban planning and management tools for climate change, policy analysis, advocacy, and harmonisation. His work is grounded in the belief that research should serve as a tool for social change, using both scientific and social science approaches to address the pressing issues faced by communities.

Throughout his academic and professional career, Choice has remained committed to bridging the gap between research and real-world solutions. He actively seeks to centre his research and career around solving community challenges, ensuring that science directly informs action and policy.

He holds a Master of Science in Environment and Natural Resources, which provided a solid foundation for his multidisciplinary research approach. Currently, he is pursuing his doctoral studies as a doctoral researcher at Ghent University, where he is affiliated with the Climatic Sciences Group. His research focuses on advancing knowledge and developing strategies that address climate risks and promote sustainable development.
